The ladies at Big Girls Small Kitchen have a wonderful post today on their blog, "The 6 Best Edible Valentine's Gifts, That Give Back". Number five on the list won my heart. I'm such a sucker for the animals.
It's called Rescue Chocolate. Rescue Chocolate donates 100% of their profits to animal rescue organizations around the country. The group is headquartered in Brooklyn, and was inspired by Mocha a rescued shelter pup. Read more about their story here. The chocolates (vegan and certified Kosher Parve) are named and packaged to shed light on different aspects of the current pet “overpopulation” epidemic. Besides raising funds for rescues, Rescue Chocolate wants to "get the word out about these oh-so-fixable issues". What a super organization! And the sweets look so, so good!
